Yay! Christy (me) has been busy doing a few interviews for online communities keen to find out about AUTHENTIC IN ALL CAPS. There is lots of juicy info about the inspiration for the project, shout-outs to related audio projects, and fun teases. It is weird riding this fine line between sharing some neat info about the design of the project while at the same time keeping the meat of it a secret. But I find I want to talk about things while I create them, and then afterwards let the project speak for itself! Go little one!

All media mentions are listed on the Press Page, but here is couple of the online communities. Ana Vasile of the Transmedia Lab was keen to break down all of the elements of AiAC, which Christy did without revealing too much! And Nathan Maton of theAlternate Reality Gaming Network was keen to understand more about what the audio format may be and how it relates to other projects out there. Interesting stuff! Thank you Ana and Nathan!

Although I’ve been working on the script, design and technology for a while, it is only recently that the key team came together. We jumped head-first into creating this site and the teaser video to share what the project is about and encourage pre-orders.

I actually came up with the idea for the audio-driven navigation a few years ago when I did the Da Vinci Code audio tour of the Louvre. Hehe. Ever since then I’ve been excited about creating an audio drama with fictional websites. I kept waiting until I had both the time and money to do it…and then of course realised that I had to do it anyway!

It took a while to find the right team, but I’m thrilled I held out for so long. The team, in order of coming on board, includes videogame sound designer and composer Stephan Schutze. Stephan jumped at the chance to work on this unusual sound design challenge and has already contributed immensely to aural storytelling and technology. Beatrix Coles, who I knew from both film world stuff but also playful agent training events, jumped at the idea of working on a compelling story with strong female characters. Bea is already weaving her magic into the characters and their sub-plots. Garth Jones also jumped at the idea of sinking his teeth into this unusual project. Garth is the eyes for this world, and manifesting amazing imagery already.

There are also some wonderful individuals around the world that will have their own part to play as we progress through development and production. But the core team is all proudly Melbourne-based. There is nothing better than being able to sit around table and talk design with your team.

Over the next few months we’ll share some updates on what we’re doing. But honestly, a lot of it will stay sekrit. We really hope you’ll all be pleasantly surprised!

In the meantime, we appreciate any support you’re willing to offer! AiAC is alive!! 8D
